I’m allergic to anything furry that would love me unconditionally. And cats.
I grew up in rural Illinois where I was Captain of my high school Speech Team, President of the Drama Club, and occasional Mathlete. Out of my entire senior class, this Doc Martin enthusiast won a scholarship from the American Legion after announcing to a bunch of retired men that she was going to college to study film. Getting that scholarship, despite all the raised eyebrows, was one of my proudest high school moments.
And I followed through, attending Columbia College Chicago where I majored in Film/Video and minored in Poetry. The poetry workshops were the most brutal writing critiques I’ve ever had and where my skin permanently thickened. Seriously, Hollywood has nothing on CCC’s Advanced Poetry Workshop.
After college, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film, but ended up in TV. I love working in television. It’s fast-paced, which is challenging, and the episodes have to air, so I’m constantly working on something new. I’ve probably worked on some shows you’ve heard of. You can find me on IMDB here.
My debut YA novel SO GLAD TO MEET YOU from Diversion Books is now available.
I’m repped by the amazing Aimee Ashcraft at Brower Literary & Management (novels).
